Private Peering VLANs

Namex provides an alternative to the physical interconnect in the Meet-Me Infrastructure (PNI) allowing the use of a dedicated port on the switching platform to set up Point-to-Point connections at a price which is lower than the equivalent peering port.

This is useful to quickly deploy an interconnection between members to deliver services, such as those offered from the Namex Neutral Wholesale Marketplace portal, in a very short time and with the advantage of a remote configuration that can be activated without access to the facilities.

By using the switching platform the traffic can also be monitored to obtain telemetry statistics.

What you can get

We support a different dedicated port at 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps on which you can configure any number of Point-to-Point VLANs.

Technical features

A VPNI can be established between two parties (P2P) or as a closed group of 3 or more connected parties (isolated broadcast domain), VPNIs are identified by unique VLAN tags assigned by NAMEX.

The VPNI service is provided through a dedicated port on the Switching Platform, available interface types and cabling are the following:
