We are very glad to inform the community that our CTO Flavio Luciani is officially a MANRS Ambassador!
Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) is a global initiative, supported by the Internet Society, that provides crucial fixes to reduce the most common routing threats.
Namex has been an active sponsor of MANRS since 2018. In our datacenters we implemented RPKI and IRR filtering of route announced towards our Route Servers (RS) infrastructure, ensuring the correctness of the BGP announcements and filtering prefixes to guarantee the AS-path granularity. Since May 2020, we further developed our RS infrastructure activating support for DDoS attack mitigation using the destination-based RTBH (Remote-Triggered Black-Hole) mechanism.
MANRS has started a new program aimed at bringing together professionals to make the global routing infrastructure more robust and secure. These professionals, named MANRS Ambassadors, are selected among representatives of MANRS participant organizations.
Specifically, a MARS Ambassador has the role of opinion leader in his community and he strongly believes that routing security is an essential component for the future well-being of the Internet and is ready to contribute to its improvement.
Our CTO Flavio Luciani is glad of his new appointment:
“I am very honored and proud to be part of MANRS initiative. I will do my best to improve routing security in Italy and we will keep proposing initiatives to enhance and share technical knowledge among our community. Thanks to everyone who supported my application!” (Flavio Luciani)
