Fees

Every Member has to contribute to NaMeX Consortium with an annual fee, which is used for the operational and capital expenses of the Consortium. By Charter, the Consortium is not for profit: all the fees are hence used for the expenses, and gains cannot be redistributed among members.

Following an agreement with the association ANFoV, its members will receive a 1000 Euro discount (on an annual basis) on the total amount of the fee.

Public and private peering

The fees for public and private peering services are based on a "nominal bandwidth" division, by taking into account the overall bandwidth consumption, regardless of the number of switchports and connections requested (*):

(*) prices include housing, up to two devices, in the dedicated peering room, and connection to both peering switches, with either one or more ports each.

When joining, a Member requiring public and/or private peering services has to declare the overall bandwidth he intends to use. This bandwidth is called nominal bandwidth.

Setup fees and additional charges

Additional fees are required upon request for the activation of private peering services:

• Private VLANs: setup costs EUR 200 for each party associated with the VLAN, no yearly fees are required
• Transit VLANs: setup costs EUR 200 for each party associated with the VLAN, a yearly fee of EUR 200 is required from the party taking the role of initiator of the VLAN; in order to foster IPv6 adoption and diffusion, yearly fees are not required for IPv6-only transit VLANs, up to December, 31st 2010
• back-to-back: setup costs EUR 200 for each party involved. Operators are committed to provide NaMeX NOC with traffic statistics for the private links; in the absence of such information, private links will be accounted for the maximum bandwidth allowed by the underlying physical media.

Carrier interconnections

Prices for interconnection services are divided into three categories:

• Housing/colocation space
• Power supply
• Patch panel deployment into meet-me room

Power supply prices are computed by taking into account the equivalent cooling power needed. Actual power consumption is periodically verified by NaMeX technical personnel, in order to ensure the respect of required consumption thresholds.
